Favourite corner: A sneaky peek and a shameless daughter

This is where I write. The picture shows a corner of my study, or office. It’s my favourite corner, if one can have a favourite corner. Of the 4 corners, it’s definitely the best one.

It contains all the essentials: PC, clock, pens, glasses, coaster (for tea, coffee or gin, obviously) and a number of items to fiddle with when I’m banging my head against the proverbial brick wall, trying to work out the next plot twist.

The husband and the step-daughter usually keep out of this room (unless they want to TALK AT ME) so it’s all mine and I bloody love it.

Now, as someone with a slightly reduced height (I’m not what you’d call ‘tall’), a certain step-daughter (who is amazingly beautiful AND tall) finds it amusing to comment on this aspect of her wonderful step-mother. So much so, she left me a little message on my white board about 2 years ago and I don’t have the heart to wipe it off.

Seeing this every time I sit down to write makes me smile. She might just be one of my favourite people, shameless or not.
